Fairy Queen is the oldest running vintage steam locomotive in the
world and was built in the year 1855 by the British firm Kinston,
Thompson & Hewitson for the British firm East India Railways.
This train has got only a first class chair car having 50
seats and a pantry car for on board catering.

1st February 1997 from Delhi, after a gap of 142 years
A MEMORABLE & EXCITING JOURNEY
Indian tourism department has tried its level best to present the
tourist with a time of their life while traveling in Fairy Queen
and the attractions that come with the tour package is certainly
hard to resist. First stop is the picturesque town of Alwar in
Rajasthan on the day when it departs from Delhi. After departing
from Alwar the guests are taken to the Sariska Tiger Reserve for
an over night stay. Accommodation provisions are done at the
Heritage hotel Sariska Palace and for entertainment there are
traditional cultural programmes and last but not the least Jeep
Safari in the Tiger Sanctuary.
Tour Itinerary
Day-1 Saturday
Delhi - India's capital and a mix of the old- world
charm and a pulsating megapolis, Delhi is famous for its
Mughal and British monuments like the Red Fort, Qutab Minar,
Humayun's Tomb, Rashtrapati Bhavan and Parliament House.
Connaught Place offers shoppers a heaven to buy right from
small curios to pricelessly crafted articles.
0930 hrs. Reporting at Delhi Cantt. Railway Station. Traditional
welcome (Arti, Garland and Tikka). Board train. Welcome drink
(non-alcoholic).
1000 hrs. Fairy Queen departs. AM service of tea/coffee/juices and
snacks.
1300 hrs. On board lunch.
1515 hrs. PM service of tea/ coffee/ juices and snacks.
1620 hrs. Departure by AC coach for Sariska. The journey will be
totally guided by way of live commentary by an experienced guide.
1730 hrs. Arrival at The Sariska Palace. Traditional Rajasthani
welcome. Welcome drink (non-alcoholic). Check-in to the rooms.
Accommodation of twin sharing basis.
2000 hrs. Regrouping at the terrace. Rajasthani cultural programme.
2100 hrs. Dinner. Calling the day off.
Day – 2 Sunday
Sariska - Famous for its Tiger Reserve where
magnificient tigers, leopards, sambhars, nilgai, and cinkara can
be spotted in their natural habitat. The town also has the ruins
of 9th and 10th century temples. Sariska is an ideal leisure spot
for those interested in wildlife and ancient architecture. Located
right next to the world famous tiger reserve is the Sariska
Palace. It offers 49 rooms with modern amenities in a gracious,
old world ambience. Adding to the beauty of this hotel is the pure
nature all around and the frequent roar of tigers !
0600 hrs. Wake up call with bed tea.
0630 hrs. Depart for jungle safari in open jeeps (05 tourist in
each jeep).
0930 hrs. Arrival back at the hotel from the safari. 30 minutes
for freshening up.
1000 hrs. Breakfast. After breakfast guests at leisure.
1200 hrs. Departure for Alwar station in AC coach.
1245 hrs. Arrival at Alwar railway station. Boarding the Fairy
Queen.
1300 hrs. Fairy Queen departs for Delhi. On board refreshments.
1330 hrs. On board lunch.
